What is an outpatient hysterectomy?

Outpatient hysterectomy is a surgical procedure in which Dr. Moore & Dr. Brown will remove your uterus. They often use the da Vinci robotics system to achieve better precision and accuracy.  This option is a minimally invasive option for hysterectomy and other gynecological surgeries. Since this procedure is minimally invasive, normally you’re able to go home the same day.

Treatment

Is an outpatient hysterectomy right for me?

To find out if you’re a good candidate for an outpatient hysterectomy, Dr. Moore & Dr. Brown will review your symptoms and medical history. They will complete a pelvic exam, ultrasound and any other necessary procedures to detect or rule out gynecological problems.

Treatment

What happens after an outpatient hysterectomy?

After your surgery, plan to have someone drive you home. Take some time off to rest and recover. Take medications as prescribed and follow the doctors post-surgery instructions to prevent complications.

You can often return to normal everyday activities within about a week. Attend all follow-up appointments with your doctor to ensure optimal results and call the office if you experience unusual symptoms.
