Dr. Rachael Sherrer is a general urologist and sees patients in both Fairhope and Foley. She is proficient in treatment of a wide breadth of general urologic conditions, such as kidney stones, urologic malignancies, and benign prostatic hyperplasia including holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP).
Dr. Sherrer grew up in Selma, Alabama and completed her undergraduate education at The University of Alabama, where in addition to her pre-medical studies, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in art history. She graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa among numerous academic honors. She went on to obtain her medical degree from University of Alabama at Birmingham, where her academic and clinical excellence earned her membership in Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. After graduating from medical school, she completed her urology residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI where she received comprehensive training in urologic surgery. She earned the Ira Sisk Award twice during residency for outstanding performance on the urology In-Service Exam. She is a member of the American Urological Association and is board-eligible with the American Board of Urology.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Sherrer enjoys reading, cooking, walking with her dog, and exploring art museums. She is thrilled for the opportunity to care for patients across Baldwin County, with focus on improving quality of life for her patients and helping them choose treatment options best suited to their individualized goals.
